Summary.

Different types of micelles are described and classified in the review, in particular micelles of low molecular surfactants and polymeric micelles, with an accent on polymeric micelles. The amphiphilic copolymers that are widely investigated as micelles carriers are described. In addition, the advantages and the drawbacks of the polymeric micelles as drug delivery systems are discussed. Polymeric micelles could be applied by various routes that are considered, namely parenteral, peroral, dermal and intraocular.
