Summary.

A new 2-nitrophenylalanine derivative has been synthesized. It was characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass-spectral data, elemental analysis, TLC, melting points determination and X-ray crystal structure analyses. The new compound was tested for cytotoxic activity in three tumor cell lines – HL-60, HL-60/Dox and SKW-3 using the MTT-dye reduction assay for cellular viability.
